TCAL dress code

Dress Code Policy For T«CAL

While individual school administrative discretion applies during normal campus hours, the following policies will apply to all member schools, including faculty, administration, athletic directors, coaches, and all student athletes participating in a Texas Christian Athletic League (T«CAL) event. These events include: any games played between T«CAL schools, including preseason, in season, and post season, and any academic events. These policies shall be enforced whenever any of the above named personnel are present at any T«CAL sanctioned event, whether participating, or in attendance. This includes any events held on your campus, or on a neutral site.

Jewelry

No earrings, or body piercing of any kind, will be worn by any male athlete, coach, administrator, or staff member while participating in a T«CAL sanctioned event. Participation includes attendance at the event.

Tattoos

No tattoos of any kind, whether temporary, or permanent, are allowed to be displayed by any athlete, coach, administrator, or staff member while he/she is participating in a T«CAL sanctioned event. Participation includes attendance at the event.

Facial Hair

No student/athlete participating in any T«CAL sanctioned event will be allowed to display any style of moustache or beard while participating in T«CAL.

Public Displays of Affection

Kissing, hand holding, prolonged embracing, between two student/athletes during any T«CAL event is strictly prohibited. This includes any students who are not athletes, but simply spectators at any T«CAL sanctioned event.

Uniform Dress Code for players:

All participants in a T«CAL event must be in complete uniform. Every team member must be dressed in uniform top/bottom in order to participate in the event.

Dress Code for Coaches:

All coaches must be properly attired during all T«CAL sanctioned events. School coach’s polos are acceptable. No flip flops should be worn during any athletic contests.

Inappropriate Language/Gestures

Profanity, lewd conduct, lewd comments, or lewd gestures are strictly forbidden by any participant (fan, athlete, staff) at any time during any T«CAL sanctioned event. This includes taunting, excessive technical fouls, antagonizing opposing fans and/or opposing players.

Time of Prayer/National Anthem

All participants must assume a reverent and respectful stance during opening prayer and/or presentation of the National Anthem during any T«CAL sanctioned event.

Failure to comply with the above code of conduct will result in disciplinary action from the State Office.
